Only one week into the EU LCS and Origen is already making a roster move. Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou will be stepping down as AD Carry for Origen, calling it a lack of motivation. In the team’s official statement on the move they stated
“With the following brief communication, we would like to announce that due to lack of motivation, FORG1VEN will no longer be part of the starting lineup of Origen throughout the rest of the split.”
The team also announced that xPeke, typically a mid laner, will be taking over Origen’s AD carry position. This move strikes as unusual as xPeke has spent his entire career as a Mid laner, and at one point a top tier Mid laner in Europe. FORG1VEN made a lengthy Facebook post regarding his choice to stop playing League of Legends, he stated “I went to origen with the mindset to try to qualify for worlds instead of taking the easy way out and skipping entire summer split (which ultimately happened but it was worth trying). However we lost about 90% of scrims in last 2 weeks.”
He continued on to talk about Blizzard’s new moba shooter mashup Overwatch,
“I took the decision to take an indefinite break from League, since I was playing more Overwatch than the game I was being payed to play.”
FORG1VEN went on to add that he has been feeling this way for awhile, growing bored with the game he played professionally. You can see his full official Facebook post here. You can also check out Origen’s official announcement here.
